(A) The information system notifies the user, upon successful logon (access) to the system, of the date and time of the last logon (access).

This control is applicable to logons to information systems via human user interfaces and logons to systems that occur in other types of architectures (e.g., service-oriented architectures). Related controls: AC-7, PL-4

This security control/enhancement is considered to be best practice. Consequently, inclusion in a departmental profile is strongly encouraged in most cases. This security control/enhancement should be implemented where possible and practical.
