EU-type examination is the part of a conformity assessment procedure in which a notified body examines the technical design and development of a product and the vulnerability handling processes put in place by the manufacturer, and attests that a product with digital elements meets the essential requirements set out in Section 1 of Annex I and that the manufacturer meets the essential requirements set out in Section 2 of Annex I.
